Bilstein Hilux Goes Bush!

Great Divide Tours.

Anthony from Sydney Shocks took the Bilstein 4X4 Hilux for its first off road tour. Great Divide Tours took Anthony and the Hilux through the areas of:

Hill End

Abercrombie Nation Park

Sofala with an overnight stay at Oberon

Our Turbo Diesel SR Hilux performed well on the tight tracks and with the increase in traction from the Bilstein shocks; the steep hills that the tour encountered along the trek were not a problem.

We will update our news site with our next adventure. Please feel free to contact us with any questions about the Bilstein Hilux 4X4. Contact Us

Stockton Trek.

Anthony from Sydney Shocks took the Bilstein 4X4 Hilux for another off road tour. This time Great Divide Tours took Anthony, at the wheel of our Bilstein equipped Hilux, to Stockton for some fun in the sand.

Our Turbo Diesel SR Hilux performed well again on the sandy slopes of Stockton beach.

“Thanks again to my sponsors, as expected the Hilux seemed to do it easier than most of the others.
This trip gave a good feel for sand driving without the concerns of being stuck in the desert.” Anthony Guyatt

Fernando Wiehrl scored the maximum 500 points available – the first time this has been achieved in 2007 – by claiming the top qualifier position as well as the win. Fernando’s position in the championship has leapfrogged to 5th overall, putting him well into contention for the title. That said, Fernando was humble over his chances. “We aren’t really concentrating on points or the championship at the moment. Our goal is to get the S15 into a strong position setup-wise for next year. At Oran Park, we’ll take each battle as it comes, just like we did at Queensland Raceway” he said. “If we have a chance to get the win at Oran Park, you can rest assured that I’ll do whatever I can to get it. I want to back up our win in Queensland and that would be the best way to do it.”

“I’d also like to express our utmost thanks and appreciation to all of our sponsors and partners, who have put in some tremendous work to get the car to where it is. Auto Salon, Industrie, Bridgestone, IS Motor Racing, Exedy, AME Wheels, Hypertune, J Racing, Haltech, Bilstein, Hi-Octane, Tomei, GCG Turbos and PPGearbox” Fernando concluded.

The Auto Salon Industrie Adrenalin Racing team aren’t resting on their laurels, with the S15 Nissan 200SX already back in Sydney being prepared for testing. “The team believes that there is a lot more potential in the car, and we are striving to hit its setup sweet spot sooner rather than later” Kha said. “As this is our first year in Drift Australia, we knew from the get go it was going to be a tough hill to climb – especially considering we only had a few months to build the car from scratch – so in previous rounds teething problems have hidden what the car is truly capable of.”

The final round of the 2007 Toyo Drift Australia series hits Oran Park on September 22-23rd.

Alajajian Debuts In Fujitsu Series

Chris Alajajian - who Bilstein have sponsored throughout his racing career – had his debut in a Fujitsu V8 Supercar at Queensland Raceway on the 21/22/23 of July. In his first ever V8 Supercar round, Chris performed quite well.
Race 1 -  28th
Race 2 -  2nd

Chris unfortunately was punted off in Race 3, and sustained enough damage to put an end to his campaign for the weekend.
Still relatively pleased with the achievements over the weekend, the team couldn’t have expected too much from a first race in the category. We continue to wish the team well in their travels with the series.

Drift Australia Round 2

Queensland Raceway

The second round of the Drift Australia 2006 Championship was at the Queensland Raceway. Cars from all across Australia turned up to compete, and make it a great weekend!

Robby Bolger won the round in his CAPA Enhanced Holden Monaro.

Bolger battled Leighton Fine in the final run for the weekend, and took out the win with ease.

The combination of Holden’s engineering and Bilstein Shock Absorbers was noted as a winning combination that helped Bolger perform to his best.

The Drif6 Falcon also entered the weekend but unfortunately, due to a media stunt gone wrong earlier in the weekend; the Falcon was not running at its full potential.

Drifting News - 2007

Robbie Bolger WINS 2007 Drift Australian Championship on Bilstein shocks absorbers built by Sydeny Shocks.

What a great year for Robbie Bolger and Sydney Shocks. Robbie preform consistently well throughout 2007, which enabled him to take out the 2007 Drift Championship. Robbie's Holden Monaro is fitted with Bilstein shock absorbers specially built by Sydney Shocks for his specific drifting needs. Robbie sits at 14th after the first round of the 2008 championship, but we look forward to seeing him progress up the competition table.

Sydney Shocks can also design speciality shock for whatever your needs are. Please contact us to discuss your requirements.Contact Us

Cars Fitted With Bilstiens 1st and 2nd. In Round 4.

Wiehrl 1st.
Fernando Wiehrl and the Auto Salon Industrie Adrenalin Racing team scored their first victory in the Drift Australia Series after enduring a difficult start to the year.

“It certainly has been a turbulent season thus far! We’ve had a lot of bad luck – especially at Round 3 at Eastern Creek – and it is such a huge relief to notch ours and Fernando’s maiden victory in the Drift Australia Series” Team Manager Charles Kha said.

The weekend of Round 4 started off in the best way possible, with driver Fernando Wiehrl putting the S15 into qualifying’s top spot. Fernando then went up against Sampson, Truscott, Trewhella, May and then finally Bolger in the final, where a re-run was in order to determine the victor.

“We couldn’t have asked for a greater victory really. It was extremely difficult as we went up against some extremely strong competitors. The final in particular against Bolger was a privilege to watch; both Robbie’s and Fernando’s driving was impeccable and closely matched.”

The Typhoon is definitely a crowd pleaser, as even though it wasn’t running all weekend, it still had hundreds of people crowding around to get a closer look.

Chris Alajajian To Take On Fujitsu V8 Supercars

Chris Alajajian, who we have followed since the early days of his racing career, has recently been signed to make his debut in a Fujitsu Supercar.

Since the days of Alajajian’s full fledged assault on the Production Car Championship in 2004, Chris has come along way, driving for Protecnica in the Subaru Liberty GT, a Subaru WRX STi, and most recently his stint in the Formula 3 Championship. Chris has performed outstandingly in all aspects of his career so far, and we wish him all the best in this new stage of his career!
